PRESS RELEASE
The Law Reform Commission has recently concluded its work on the review of the Legal
Practitioners Law.
The Commissioners report together with a draft Bill has been submitted to the Governor-in-Cabinet
for consideration.
Cabinet has considered the report and Bill and has agreed that before Cabinet makes
a final determination on the matter the public should be afforded one final opportunity
to comment on the report and the Bill.
Accordingly, the report and Bill will be circulated for public comments and will
be available on the Government website and the Judicial and Legal website. The Judicial
and Legal website address is www.caymanjudicial-legalinfo.com.ky
The closing date for comments is Friday August 24th 2007. Comments should be sent
to the office of the Attorney General by submitting it electronically to Ms. Tesia
Scott at tesia.scott@gov.ky or delivered to the Attorney General’s Chambers, 4th
Floor, Government Administration Building.
Finally, persons wishing to submit comments on the Bill are being reminded that
the Bill should not be scanned then altered or marked-up and then submitted. Instead
the comments should be submitted in written form.
